March Madness at RagApple Lassie!

Wow – what a glorious weekend! Warm, balmy air, beautiful sunshine and blooming daffodils.

However, we still have March before us so, please don’t wish for spring just yet ’cause we will have some more cold weather – maybe even snow – before spring is here to stay. And, too much warm weather means an early bud break in the vineyards which is NOT good! So please be patient – everything in good time!

But, whatever the weather, Ragapple Lassie has lots of fun things planned including lunch at The Back Door Café on Saturday and Sunday by reservation.

The release of our newest dry red Zinfandel continues this Saturday, March 5th. Come, claim your free taste and stock up your cellar. According to winemaker, Linda, “It will blow your socks off!” The bottles flew out the door last weekend but not to worry, we still have a ‘few’ bottles left!

Saturday, February 26th: 2007 Estate Grown Zinfandel!

This past Saturday was spectacular! The glimpse of spring was so welcome and made especially nice with visits from many of you. Dozens of you joined in the fun of the Wine Trivia Quiz designed and directed by winemaker, Linda King, and husband, Tom, and many of you won free tastings. Congratulations to all the winners and kudos to Linda and Tom for their expertise!

This coming Saturday, February 26^th, heralds the IPO (Initial public offering) of the 2007 Estate Grown Zinfandel. To quote Winemaker, Linda, “This Zin is the best ever and will ‘knock your socks off’!” All this, plus it is the only North Carolina Zinfandel grown right here in the Yadkin Valley! Come, claim your free sample and see for yourself!

The Back Door Café is open by reservation only until April 1 when the regular schedule resumes.

Live Music returns on April 2^nd and will continue throughout the year!

Everyone is cordially invited to attend the 6:30 a.m. Easter Sunrise Service in the Vineyards sponsored by Boonville United Methodist Church. Come experience the glory of watching the sun rise behind Pilot Mountain as an acappella choir sings the traditional Easter anthems.

Mother Nature Teasing Us!

Mother Nature is teasing all of us with a fleeting glimpse of spring this week, so savor this welcome respite with a visit to RagApple Lassie Vineyards.

This Saturday, February 19th, come play Wine Trivia for free tastes or free glasses of wine and for you really good players, the chance to win bottles of wine! Of course, normal tastings of all our awesome award winning wines will be available, plus the ambiance of all things Ragapple Lassie!

February 26th is the second round of the Yadkin Winter Reds Events. If you missed the January portion of the Yadkin Winter Reds Event that included RagApple Lassie, you have one more chance! RagApple Lassie will offer its same sampling of food and wine on February 26th to anyone with a February Yadkin Winter Reds Event ticket!

And joining the annual March Madness, RagApple Lassie will have the TV on for keeping up with all the game scores while you sample the Introduction of the Gloriously Good Green Shooters made from one of RagApple Lassie’s famous wines!!!! Come taste – you will be wowed!

February 26th - brings the Release Party for our 2007 dry red Zinfandel. RagApple Lassie Zinfandel is the only Zin grown in the valley and to quote winemaker, Linda King, “This Zin will knock your socks off ! Mother Nature’s Winter Wrath

I do not know what we (or you) have done to bring Mother Nature’s Winter Wrath upon us. For the second January in a row, extreme cold and weekly snow casts have become the norm. Hence, RagApple Lassie has been busy planning a plethora of activities to help banish the winter doldrums! Complete details for each event will be available at ragapplelassie.com within the week, but in the meantime take a glance at the ‘quick list’ shown below.

Please note: We are always pleased and happy to have you join us for lunch, in The Back Door Café, but please, during the winter months of January and February, call in advance and let us know you are coming so we will have ‘enough beans in the pot for you too!’ And remember, an enhanced and enlarged menu will be introduced in the spring!

Open New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day!

This Christmas, Frank and I were given the greatest gift we have EVER received! And that was being able to spend two whole days at home doing nothing but enjoying the most beautiful snow we have ever seen! Snow began falling on Christmas morn and continued through the next morning! Every eyeful was just glorious, even more beautiful than a postcard, and the God given gift of not having to rush off someplace else was magnificent!

And, we truly hope that each of you experienced a joyous Christmas also.

To say thank you to all our friends as this year ends and a new one begins, we cordially

invite you to visit this weekend (we will be open our regular hours – noon to six) including New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day and take advantage of some special ‘specials,’ we have planned including the goodbye SALE for the last thirteen cases of our 2008 Zinfandel. Since there are just thirteen cases, you can buy a case for just $131.31 or by the bottle for $13.13! Plus, some other surprises are planned – just for you this weekend and throughout the winter months. Stay tuned for updates!

Please note: The Back Door Café will be open from now through March by reservation only. If you would like lunch any weekend, just give us a call and it will be ready for you. Beginning April 1st, a new and expanded menu will be available on a regular walk-in basis!
